Vekilov, Mansur Fakhri oglu

Mansur Vekilov ( azerb. Mənsur Vəkilov ; September 7, 1935 , Baku - October 21, 2008 , ibid.) - Soviet and Azerbaijani poet, translator, screenwriter and journalist. Honored Artist of Azerbaijan ( 2003 ).

Biography

Born in 1935 in Baku . From the famous noble family of the Vekilovs.

In 1961 he graduated from the philological faculty of Azerbaijan State University . He worked in the newspaper "Youth of Azerbaijan". He studied at the higher script courses of VGIK. He worked in the Russian-language magazine Literary Azerbaijan , since 1991 - its chief editor.

He died in 2008 in Baku, was buried in the Alley of Honor .

Family

Father - (1916-1987), Minister of Health of the Azerbaijan SSR (1963-1970).

Children:

  • Mammadrza (b. 1964)
  • Rena (b. 1971).

Creativity

He made his debut in print in 1958, in the journal Literary Azerbaijan. He is the author of collections of poems in Russian: “Poems”, “Splash of the oar”, “Last admission”, “Today is not too late”, “Lyrics” and others.

His poems are translated into Ukrainian, Georgian, Latvian, French, German, English.

He translated the stories of Azerbaijani writers Suleiman Rahimov , Mehti Huseyn , Akram Aylisli , poems and poems by Bakhtiyar Vagabzade , Ali Kerim , Fikret Goji , Vagif Samedogly into Russian .
