Biography
Alexander Zhidkikh was born on July 8, 1925 in the city of Biysk (now Altai Territory ). He graduated from nine classes of the school. In February 1943, Liquid was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . Since October of that year - on the fronts of World War II, he was a sapper of the 1st combat engineer company of the 233rd separate combat engineer battalion of the 149th infantry division of the 65th Army of the Central Front . He distinguished himself during the battle of the Dnieper [1] .
On the night of October 15-16, 1943, Liquid under massive enemy fire ensured the crossing of Soviet units in the vicinity of the village of Shchitsy, Loevsky District, Gomel Region, Belorussian SSR . Participated in the seizure of the bridgehead, personally destroyed a large number of Nazis. Thanks to his efforts, the units of the rifle regiment successfully captured the bridgehead on the west bank of the Dnieper [1] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 30, 1943, for the "exemplary performance of the command missions at the front of the battle against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown at the same time," Red Army soldier Alexander Zhidki was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal " Under the number 1596 [1] .
After the end of the war, Liquid served in the troops of the NKVD / MVD of the USSR . In 1945, he graduated from the Higher Officer School of the NKVD of the USSR, in 1955 - the Military Academy of Chemical Protection . Member of the CPSU since 1945. Since 1959, he served as head of the chemical service of the Department of Internal Troops of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Ukrainian and Moldavian SSR. In 1970, with the rank of Colonel Liquid, he was sacked. He lived in Kiev , died on November 6, 1976 [1] .
He was also awarded a number of medals [1] .
The name is immortalized at the Memorial of Glory in the city of Barnaul, on the memorial plate in the Victory Park of Biysk and in the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-45. in Moscow
