People's Justice Party (PNS) ( Malaysian. Parti Keadilan Rakyat ) is a centrist opposition party in Malaysia . The current name is from August 3, 2003 after the merger with the People's Party of Malaysia.
He advocates the democratization and liberalization of socio-political life. It has about 200 thousand members. In the wake of popularity, Anwar Ibrahim won 5 seats in parliament in the 1999 elections, but in the next elections of 2004 she managed to keep only one.
The 2008 election was a triumph for the party, when it won 31 seats in parliament and, together with coalition partners, the People’s Bloc formed governments in four states. [2] In the general election on May 5, 2013, the party won 30 seats in parliament. [3] [4] .
On May 24-25, 2013, the 9th National Congress of the PNS was held, which was attended by delegates from 221 branches of the party. Congress confirmed the correctness of the party’s tactics and strategy at the present stage and decided to hold the next congress in August 2013 with the aim of electing leadership for the next three-year term.
In the 2018 election, the coalition of the PNS won the majority of seats in parliament.
