Biography
Mikali graduated from La Sapienza University of Rome in 1972 and entered the University of California at Berkeley , where he received a Ph.D. in computer science under the supervision of Manuel Blum . After graduation, Mikali spent a year as a postdoc at the University of Toronto , after which he began to teach at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology , where he still works.
In 2007, Mikali became a member of the US National Academy of Sciences [2] and the International Association for Cryptologic Research . In addition, Mikali is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the National Academy of Engineering of the United States [3] .
Mikali is a laureate of the Gödel Prize (1993), as well as the Turing Prize (2012), which he received together with Shafi Goldwasser for his contribution to the development of cryptology .
