The emblem was approved by the decision of the fifteenth session of the district Assembly of Deputies of the second convocation of the municipal unit "Pustoshkinsky District" dated May 29, 2000 [1] , reapproved due to the change of status by the decision of the Assembly of Deputies of June 29, 2007. [2]
The emblem is entered in the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation under registration number 650. [3]

Emblem Description
“In a green field there is a lowered golden narrow cross with indirect upper and lower shoulders, and on top of everything standing on one paw on a crosshair is a silver stork with black ends of folded wings and eyes, with scarlet (red) beak and paws.”
The coat of arms of Pustoshkinsky district can be reproduced in two equally acceptable versions:
- - without the free part;
- - with the freestyle part - a quadrilateral adjacent from the inside to the upper edge of the coat of arms of the Pustoshkinsky district with the figures of the coat of arms of the Pskov region reproduced in it. The version of the coat of arms with the free part is applied after appropriate legislative consolidation of the procedure for including the free part in the coat of arms of the municipalities of the Pskov region with the coat of arms of the Pskov region.
The coat of arms of the Pustoshkinsky district in accordance with the minutes of the meeting of the Heraldry Council under the President of the Russian Federation No. 24 dated March 23-24, 2005 paragraph 8 can be reproduced with the status crown of the established sample
Symbolization Justification
The basis of the coat of arms, its foundation was the geographical location of the city of Pustoshka , which is located at the intersection of highways: Moscow - Riga and St. Petersburg - Kiev .
Green color shows forests, fields and farmlands of the area. Green is also a symbol of fertility, hope and health.
The blue color reflects the numerous lakes in the area.
Blue color - a symbol of purity of the sky, beauty and virtue.
Storks nesting in these places are a symbol of the city. The stork symbolizes peace, reverence for parents and the purity of nature.
Silver in heraldry is a symbol of simplicity, perfection, wisdom, nobility, peace, cooperation.
Gold is a symbol of strength, grandeur, wealth, intelligence, generosity.
Red color is a symbol of celebration, beauty, joy.
Black color in heraldry symbolizes prudence, wisdom, modesty, honesty and eternity of being.
History of coat of arms
In 2000, a single coat of arms of the Pustoshkinsky district and the city of Pustoshka was approved. In 2007, this emblem was reapproved and became the emblem of the Pustoshkinsky district only. [2]
The coat of arms was developed with the assistance of the Union of Heralds of Russia .
