Role in books
Ruby Book
From childhood, Gideon knew that he was the bearer of a rare time traveler gene transmitted in his family through the male line. He was taught from childhood, along with Charlotte Montrose, to play music, etiquette, the history of England, martial arts and much more to further fulfill the important mission - to collect the blood of all time travelers to complete the Circle of Blood in a chronograph. He supposedly met Charlotte Montrose, who “never doubted Gideon’s words”, and Gwendoline, who turned out to be the Ruby of the Circle of Blood, his travel companion in the past, openly despised him and did not want to listen to him at all. Gideon, on the other hand, considered her a stupid girl, one of many who admire rock guitarists, but feelings appear throughout the book.
Character Criticism
In an annotation from Justine Magazine, Gideon is called "magnificent in his annoying behavior" [1] . A review from the New York Times states that green eyes are Gideon's only distinguishing feature, as for the most part he repeats the pattern of a teenage literature hero [2] . In the review of Publishers Weekly, both main characters are called “first-class” and compelling to expect the continuation of the trilogy [3] .
