The Private Press , DJ Shadow's second full-length studio album , was released June 2, 2002 via MCA . Although critics considered it not as innovative as the musician’s debut - Endtroducing ..... , The Private Press still received widespread recognition [1] .

About the album
Director Wong Kar-Wai shot a video for the single “Six Days”. The song "Blood on the Motorway" was used in a commercial for the British O2 mobile phone network and the BBC ad Darwin: The Genius of Evolution .
A special limited edition of The Private Press was produced in various packages and contained the song “Giving Up the Ghost (original version)” and a bonus disc with “Pushin 'Buttons Live,” a 12-minute live track featuring Cut Chemist and DJ Nu-Mark .
The song “Blood on the Motorway” was used in the final scene of the film Points over i and in the movie Tomorrow is more lucky .
