The emblem was approved by the decision of the 12th session of the Assembly of Deputies of the Dnovsky District (as amended on April 12, 2005, the 22nd session of the Assembly of Deputies of the Dnovsky District) of September 28, 2000. [1] .
The coat of arms is entered in the State Heraldry Register of the Russian Federation under registration number 691. [2]

Emblem Description
“In a green field over a narrow silver-black composite Andreev’s cross, a belt in the form of a gold wall without teeth with three arches, of which the middle azure (blue, blue) is larger, and a tower with a spire.”
The coat of arms of the Dnovsky district can be reproduced in two equally acceptable versions:
- - without a free part;
- - with a free part - a quadrangle adjacent from the inside to the upper and right edge of the coat of arms of the Dnovsky district with the figures of the coat of arms of the Pskov region reproduced in it. The version of the coat of arms with the free part is applied after appropriate legislative consolidation of the order of inclusion in the coats of arms of municipalities of the Pskov region a free part with the image of the coat of arms of the Pskov region.
Justification of Symbols
The basis of the coat of arms, its foundation was the geographical location of the city. The bottom is located at the intersection of highways: Bologoe - Pskov and St. Petersburg - Vitebsk . The green color of the coat of arms symbolizes the farmland of the region and the nature surrounding the city, rich in fields, forests, meadows. green is also a symbol of fertility, fertility, life, rebirth and health.

Coat of Arms History
On September 30, 1996, the emblem of the city of Dno was approved. The emblem had the following description: in the green shield, black and silver narrow left and right shortened slings converging at the top of the black and silver narrow lowered rafters, symbolizing the railway junction, burdened with the golden building of the railway station with a spire, followed by a golden winged wheel below. In the free part of the shield on the left is the coat of arms of the Pskov region.
The city coat of arms served as the basis for the officially approved coat of arms of the Dnovsky district.
The coat of arms of the district was developed with the assistance of the Union of Heraldists of Russia .
