Club career

In 2008, Gil entered the AIMB Football Academy in Bradenton . In 2009, Louis was named Best Young Player of the Year in the United States. In February 2010, MLS signed a professional contract with a football player to leave him in the USA, as several European top clubs, in particular London Arsenal , showed interest in Louis [1] .

After the contract with Generation Adidas, Gil was put up for draft MLS. On February 22, 2010, Kansas City Wizards won the right to Louis. Gil wanted to speak at a western conference and the next day the league leadership helped move the player to Real Salt Lake . Louis made his debut against DCC United at the 2010 US Open Cup.

In the second half of the season, Louis played for the team of the second division of the professional league “ AC St. Louis ” on loan. On August 15, in a match against Portland Timbers , Gil made his debut for a new team, replacing in the second half [2] . On September 19, Louis scored his first and only goal for AC St. Louis in a duel against Austin Aztex [3] .

On October 19, in a match against Cruz Asul , Gil made his debut in the CONCACAF Champions League for Real Madrid [4] . On March 27, in a duel against the Los Angeles Galaxy , Louis made his MLS debut [5] . On August 7, in a meeting against the New York Red Bulls , Gil scored his first goal for the team and helped her win a major victory [6] .

In early 2016, Gil moved to the Mexican Queretaro . On January 23, in his match against Dorados de Sinaloa , he made his debut in the Mexican Example [7] .

In early April 2017, Gil returned to MLS, moving to Orlando City on a leasehold basis with an option to purchase at the end of the season [8] . For the Lions, he made his debut on April 9 in a match against the New York Red Bulls, where he replaced Matthias Perez Garcia in the 84th minute and only two minutes later received a yellow card [9] .

Gil's lease continued at Colorado Rapids after Orlando City exchanged him and $ 100,000 in distribution funds for Dillon Powers on August 10, 2017 [10] . On August 20, in his match against DC United he made his debut for a new team [11] . At the end of the lease, Gil returned to Queretaro.

On April 23, 2018, Gil returned to MLS, joining Houston Dynamo on loan. [12] After first playing one match for the Rio Grande Valley Toros Farm Club, he made his debut for Houston Dynamo on May 11 in a match against Vancouver Whitecaps .

International Career

In 2009, as part of the U.S. U-17 team, Gil played at the World Youth Championships in Nigeria . At the tournament, he played in matches against teams of Spain [13] , Malawi [14] , UAE [15] and Italy [16] . In 2011, he was drafted to the national team under 18 for the Milk Cup .

In 2013, Gil, as a member of the national team, reached the age of 20 until the final of the CONCACAF Championship among youth teams , where his team lost the Mexicans to the tournament hosts in extra time. During the competition, Louis scored two goals against Canada [17] and Haiti [18] .

In the same year, as a member of the youth team of the United States, he played at the Youth World Championships in Turkey . At the tournament, he took part in matches against the teams of Spain [19] , France [20] and Ghana [21] . In a duel against the Spaniards, Gil scored a goal.

February 2, 2014 in a friendly match against the South Korean national team, Gil made his debut for the US national team [22] .
