The 1946 parliamentary elections in Siam ( Thailand was renamed Siam in September 1945, and again in Thailand in August 1948) took place on January 6, and on August 5, a second round of elections was held in 47 provinces of the country to elect an additional number of parliamentarians in accordance with Constitution of the country [1] . Since there were no formal political parties in Siam, the candidates formally acted as independents.

The unofficial alignment of forces in the elected parliament was as follows [2] :
- supporters of the Come Panomionga - 57 seats;
- supporters of the Democratic Party - 18 seats;
- independent −7 places.
2 091 788 voters participated in the elections (turnout was 32.5%) [1] .
