Yashthua ( Abkh. Iashҭkhәa ), formerly Tavisupleba ( Georgian თავისუფლება , also Yashthva ) is a village and village administration of the same name in Abkhazia , in the Sukhumi region of the partially recognized Republic of Abkhazia , according to the administrative division of Georgia - in the Sukhumi municipality of the Abkhaz Autonomous Republic [1] northern outskirts of the city of Sukhum .

Population
According to 1959, 1081 people lived in the village of Tavisupleba (Yashthua), mostly Georgians (3128 people in the Tavisupleb village council as a whole, mostly Georgians (in the village of Tavisupleba (Yashthua, 1081 inhabitants) and Kvemo-Yashthwa (Lower Yashthua) , 1328 inhabitants), as well as Armenians in the villages of Goran (Abydza, 181 inhabitants) and Zemo-Yashkhkva (Upper Yashthua, 538 inhabitants, 1959) [4] [5] .
In 1989, 1842 people lived in the village of Tavisupleba (Yashthua) [6] , also mainly Georgians, as well as Armenians and Abkhazians [7] .
According to the 2011 census, the population of the rural settlement (rural administration) of Yashthua was 2027 inhabitants, of which 85.8% were Armenians (1739 people), 8.5% were Abkhazians (172 people), 3.3% were Russians (67 people), 1.1% - Greeks (22 people), 0.9% - Georgians (18 people), 0.1% - Ukrainians (2 people), 0.3% - other nationalities (7 people) [8] .
