The drug barban is prohibited for use in the European Union, in particular in Switzerland, Austria and Germany [4] [5] .
Synthesis
A barbane is synthesized by the interaction of reaction products of phosgene with m- chloroaniline and 2-butyn-1,4-diol with thionyl chloride [3] .
An alternative way is the synthesis of 4-chlorobutyl-2-in-chloroformate from phosgene and 2-butyn-1,4-diol and the subsequent reaction of this product with 3-chloroalanine [3] .
