Biography
Maurice Cloche was born on June 17, 1907 in Commerce , a city in eastern France. After receiving secondary education, he studied at the School of Fine Arts in Paris . As a film actor, he made his debut in 1933. In 1937 he creates a company and begins to make films on his own. However, in connection with the outbreak of World War II , its activities were virtually discontinued. After 1945, the production of paintings resumed. It was during these years that Maurice Cloche reached the highest peak of his creative career - he shot the film " Monsieur Vincent ", which received the BAFTA Award for Best Film and the Academy Award for Best Film in a Foreign Language [1] . Many of his works of this period are devoted to the ideas of Christian mercy and self-sacrifice, which made it possible to talk about him as the spokesman for the official views of the Catholic Church (the above tape, for example, is included in the list of 45 best works of cinema, according to the Vatican [2] ). However, with a long creative biography (continued taking into account television work until the early 1980s), it was not possible to repeat the success of "Monsieur Vincent".
