The disc was recorded and mixed in London during the winter of 1993/94. The cover photo was taken by Carinne Day .
Consisting mainly of acoustic compositions [2] , Amplified Heart is primarily known to a wide audience thanks to the dance remix of the song “Missing”. In early 1996, the single "Missing ( Todd Terry Club Mix )" reached # 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts . Throughout the year, the remix had a huge radio broadcast, thereby making Everything But The Girl famous in the US and around the world.

Interesting Facts
The remix of the song “Missing” (Todd Terry Club mix) was included in the Guinness Book of Records in the category “Longest Continuous Time on the Chart”, he set a record - since August 1995 he has been on the American singles chart for 55 consecutive weeks [3] .
