It originates in the southwest of Saskatchewan, in the hilly region of Kipress, at an altitude of 975 m above sea level. In the upstream it flows to the east, in the middle and lower - mainly in the south-east direction. On the territory of the National Park Grassland Frenchmen strongly meander . Further, the river crosses the border with the United States . It flows into the Milk River in Philips County, north of Sako.
