Biography
Murat Gallyamovich Kuzhakov [1] was born on March 10, 1904 in the village of Staraya Muraptalovo, now Kuyurgazinsky district of Bashkiria, in a peasant family.
Bashkir. In 1926 he graduated from primary school, worked on the collective farm as a construction foreman.
He was called up to the Red Army in January 1942 by the Kuyurgazinsky District Military Commissariat of the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. In the battles of World War II from April 1942.
Guards senior sergeant Kuzhakov M. G. distinguished himself in September 27, 1943 in battle at the crossing of the Dnieper River .
After the war, the brave warrior-cavalry demobilized. He lived in the village Yakupovo Kumertau district of the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, until 1959 worked on a collective farm.
He died on November 3, 1986. He was buried in the village of Staraya Muraptalovo, Kuyurgazinsky district of Bashkiria.
Feat
"The commander of the saber department of the 58th Guards Cavalry Regiment (16th Guards Cavalry Division, 7th Guards Cavalry Corps, Central Front) Guards Senior Sergeant Kuzhakov M. G. on the night of September 27, 1943 with the branch crossed the Dnieper River to near the village of Nivki in the Bragin district of the Gomel region of Belarus and joined the battle for the bridgehead. Left alone with a friend, they managed to break out of the encirclement and joined up with the squadron. ”
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated January 15, 1944, for exemplary execution of command assignments and for showing courage and heroism in battles against the German fascist invaders of the guard, senior sergeant Kuzhakov Murat Gallyamovich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal (No. 3398).
Memory
In the village of Old Muraptalovo the monument to the Hero of the Soviet Union M. G. Kuzhakov is erected.
