Characteristics of Creativity
The music of O. Sonin is saturated with vivid images, emotionally filled, expressive. The musical language of the composer's works is based on modern intonation, the widespread use of various composition techniques, primarily the free implementation of the experience of serial and serial music accumulated by XX century music. O. Sonin's scores are rich in interesting timbre finds, delicate, detailed sound recordings, and exquisite color combinations. The composer seeks to create a bright, expressive, one-of-a-kind art form. The refined intellectualism of music by O. Sonin manifests itself in connection with his compositions with other types of art, in particular, with painting and poetry of various eras and styles (for example, the Second Symphony of the composer is inspired by the images of poetry F.G. Lorca, The Third Symphony is written on the texts of Sappho and Ovid who sang in his verses the love of Sappho and Faon). An important place in the composer's work is chamber-vocal lyrics. O. Sonin's vocal cycles to verses of Belarusian and foreign poets are distinguished by a diverse embodiment of speech intonation, laconicism of the statement, and detailed nuance. Trunk genres in the work of O. Sonin of the 80s. XX century become a symphony and concert. One of the most famous compositions in this genre is the First Piano Concerto, solved in a free-improvisational manner. Vibrant, selfless virtuosity, a wealth of colors, orchestral interpretation of the piano became characteristic features that later appeared in other works of the composer.
