Stage of the World Superbike Championship on the Moscow Raceway

The Russian stage of the World Superbike Championship ( Eng. Eni FIM Superbike World Championship ) is one of the stages of motorcycle racing in the calendar of the World Superbike Championship . Held under the auspices of the International Motorcycle Federation since 2012 .

History

2012

In 2012, the Russian stage was held on the Moscow Raceway . The stage was visited by 32500 spectators.

Two classes took part in the stage: Superbike and Supersport . As part of the stage, a Superstock 600 Class Two Country Cup support race was also held.

Super Pole

The winner of the SuperPowl was Carlos Cheka (   ESP Althea Ducati 1098R) with a time of 1m 34.193s .

Race 1

The winner of the stage in the first race of the Superbike class was Tom Sykes (   GBR Kawasaki Racing ZX-10R). The best lap time in the first race belongs to Leon Hazlam (   GBR BMW Motorrad S1000RR) - 1m 36.729s .

Race 2

The winner in the second Superbike race was Marco Melandry (   ITA BMW Motorrad S1000RR). He also owns the best lap time in the race - 1m 35.794s .

2013

In 2013, the stage was held on July 21 on the same track. Two classes also took part in the stage: Superbike and Supersport . As part of the stage, a Superstock 600 Class Two Country Cup support race was also held .

Race 1

During the first race, for the first time in the history of a Superbike, teams changed tires without stopping and restarting. The winner of the race was Marco Melandry (   ITA BMW Motorrad S1000RR). There were many falls during the race due to worsening rain conditions.

Race 2

The second race and the entire program of the stage were canceled due to a tragic incident during the race   Supersport .

2014

The stage was canceled by agreement between the organizer and Dorna Sports.

2015

The stage is scheduled for July 5 on the Moscow Raceway .

TV Broadcasts

In 2012-2013, the VGTRK company was engaged in the production of TV broadcasts. Races of the Russian stage were broadcast by the Russia-2 and Sport-1 television channel.

Interesting Facts

In the 2013 season, during the first race of the Superbike class, according to the then new regulations of the team, for the first time in history, the tires were changed without restarting the race. Unlike similar regulations, MotoGP made a complete replacement of the wheels, and not the entire motorcycle.
