The Kolpashev diocese is the diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church within the administrative borders of Alexandrovsky , Bakcharsky , Verkhneketsky , Kargasoksky , Kolpashevsky , Krivosheinsky , Molchanovsky , Parabelsky , Chainsky districts of the Tomsk region , as well as the city district Strezhevoy . It is part of the Tomsk Metropolis .

History
The reason for the creation of the diocese was the report of the Archbishop of Tomsk and Asinovsky Rostislav , where he proposed the formation of a new diocese for the northern regions of the Tomsk region :
18.81% of the population of [Tomsk Oblast] live in the northern regions. Many settlements are significantly removed from the main routes and therefore are not often visited by the bishop. <...> The opening of the bishop's chair in this part of the Tomsk Region would be useful for the further development of church life.
On March 12, 2013, the Holy Synod decided to form the Kolpashevsky diocese, separating it from the Tomsk diocese , with the inclusion of both dioceses in the newly formed Tomsk Metropolis [2] .
