Biography
Born February 12, 1896 in a peasant family. Russian Primary education.
Since 1915 he served in the Russian army, participated in the 1st World War .
In the Red Army since 1918 , a participant in the Civil War , battles with white-shells in the Volga region .
After demobilization he lived and worked in his native village.
In September 1941 he was again drafted into the army.

On July 25, 1943, in the battles for the city of Oryol, the anti-tank gunner of the 1st Infantry Battalion of the 1264th Infantry Regiment of the 380th Infantry Division of the 3rd Army of the Bryansk Front, Private Chernigin destroyed the enemy tank, the machine gun prevented the advancement of the regiment's units and among the first to burst to Eagle .
On August 16, 1943, by Order of the 3rd Army, No. 088 / n, he was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd degree
September 10, 1943 during the Bryansk operation in the battle for the village of Bytosh, Dyatkovo district, Bryansk region, the second number of the anti-tank rifle of the 1st Infantry Battalion of the 1264th Infantry Regiment of the 380th Infantry Division, Corporal Chernigin, reflecting the enemy’s counterattack, destroyed 8 German soldiers.

On February 29, 1944, in a battle near the village of Ludchitsy, the Bykhov district of the Mogilev region of Belarus, the shooter of the 3rd battalion of the 1264th rifle regiment of the 380th rifle division of the 50th army of the Western Front, Junior Sergeant Chernigin was the first to break into the enemy’s trench, and up to 10 Nazis fell from the machine gun and one captured, being wounded did not leave the battlefield.
On May 8, 1944, by Order of the 380th Infantry Division No. 098 / n he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree .
On June 26, 1944, in a battle near the village of Ostrov, Chausky district, Mogilev region, the commander of the rifle division of the 1264th rifle regiment of the 380th rifle division of the 50th army , the 2nd Belorussian front, junior sergeant Chernigin was one of the first to force the Resta River, raise the soldiers to attack and mastered the first trench of the enemy. Personally, a grenade destroyed a machine gun with the calculation.
By order of the 50th Army of July 27, 1944, Junior Sergeant Chernigin was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree .
On July 5-7, 1944, during the liberation of the village of Pekalin, Smolevichi district of the Minsk region of Belarus, the commander of the rifle division of the 1264th rifle regiment of the 380th rifle division, Sergeant Chernigin, with his division, occupied the outskirts of the village and held it until the main forces arrived . Personally suppressed the firing point, eliminated the car and several enemy soldiers.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, Sergeant Chernigin Yegor Vasilievich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree for exemplary performance of command assignments in battles against Nazi invaders.
The order was presented to him in the Kremlin by M. I. Kalinin .
In 1945 he was demobilized. He returned to his homeland. He lived in the Mokshan and Penza regions, in recent years - in the city of Penza .
He died on March 8, 1976 . He was buried at the Newwestern cemetery of the city of Penza [K 1] .
