Biography
Full name: Abu-l-Hasan Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Habib al-Basri al-Mawardi. Born in Basra in 974. From an early age, he studied Hadith, Fiqh and the interpretation of the Qur'an from such famous theologians of his time as Al-Khatib al-Baghdadi (mind. 1072 ) and Abu-el-Wahid al-Simari. Settling in Baghdad, he became acquainted with the Mu'tazilites and showed sympathy towards them. [5]
Al-Mawardi was appointed chief cadium in Ustuwa , and then moved to Baghdad. He also happened to play the role of a diplomat at the talks between the Abbasid Caliphate and the Buid Emirate . These negotiations led to the creation of his most important work, Al-ahkam Al-Sultania Val-Vilayat al-Diniya [6] . Abu al-Hassan al-Mawardi died in Baghdad on May 27, 1058 [7] .
