Geography
The village is located 42 km south of the regional center of Sharypovo .
History
When the territory was annexed to Russia, the Sartachulsky ulus was small. The number of its inhabitants increased or decreased. So, in 1906 there were only six dozen people in it, in 1911 - 82, and at that time there were only eleven yards. Khakasses lived in Sartachul, and in the nineteenth beginning of the twentieth century Russian families began to settle. Now in the village of Sartachul there are recreation centers and summer cottages scattered along the shore of Lake Bolshoi.
