Evangelical Lutheran Church in Uzbekistan

Tashkent church

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Uzbekistan is an association of Lutherans of Uzbekistan. It was founded in 2000 on the basis of the Uzbek probation of ELKRAS . The first bishop of the church is Corney Wiebe (1955-2015). Currently, the church consists of 2 communities (in Tashkent and Ferghana) [1] . The basis of the parishioners is ethnic Germans. The building of the Lutheran church in Tashkent was erected before the revolution in 1899.
