Biography
In 1866 he graduated from Vladimir Theological Seminary in the first category [2] . He served in the temples of Vladimir [3] .
In 1875, for some offense, he was forbidden to worship, and he was appointed a teacher [3] .
In 1880, he was allowed to worship. Since 1881 he was appointed rector of the church in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in Vypolzovaya Slobodka . He wrote a lot in Vladimir provincial sheets on the history of temples of Vladimir land [3] .
In 1895 he graduated from the Moscow Theological Academy with a degree of candidate of theology [4] and was appointed diocesan missionary to Stavropol [3] .
In 1911, the appendix “Missionary News” began to be released, the chief editor of which was Archpriest Simeon Nikolsky.
He was "a lifelong member of the society for the restoration of Christianity in the Caucasus" [5] . He was a member of the Stavropol Scientific Archival Commission [6] .
He was especially famous for his sermons [7] . He had a huge personal library at that time, which he began to collect as early as the years of service in the Vladimir diocese; decorated it with an ex-libris "Priest Simeon Iakovlevich Nikolsky" [8] .
In 1921, the Armavir vicarate of the Kuban Diocese was created within the borders of the Armavir department (until 12.11.1920 - Labinsky) and included some settlements of the Batalpashi department (until its abolition on 02.22.1922). The exact date is unknown, it happened between April and August, because in the September letter of N. V. Numerov, Vicarism is already called "just approved" [9] . It should be assumed that Archpriest Simeon Nikolsky was elected to this post. In the “Brief Information on the History of the Opening of the Independent Krasnodar Diocese ...” by the Bishop of Kuban and Krasnodar Flavian (Ivanov) , Bishop Simeon is called “former only in the Rassophore .” No information was found about his episcopal ordination; however, the fact of its doubt does not cause [10] .
He performed divine services not only in Armavir, but also in the pages of the diocese, and also quite often served in Krasnodar the bishop of Kuban and Krasnodar John (Levitsky), managing diocese. He performed deaconial and priestly ordinations, appointed clergy to serve within his diocese. The great popularity and fame of Bishop Simeon among the residents of the Kuban and Stavropol attracted hundreds of believers to each of his services [10] .
Metropolitan Manuil (Lemeshevsky) in his directory indicates: “According to the circumstances of the time, he managed the diocese only the last six months of his life” [11] .
June 27, 1922 he died in Armavir from cholera [11] .
