Manuel Esequiel Bruzual ( Spanish: Manuel Ezequiel Bruzual ; 1832, Santa Marta - August 14, 1868, Curacao ) - Venezuelan military leader, liberal politician, Minister of the Army and Navy (1864), President of Venezuela in 1868.

Biography
Brusual actively participated in the federalist war, fought in Barquisimeto and Portugal. Later, after the federalists took power into their own hands, President Juan Crisostomo Falcon appointed him to the post of Minister of Defense and Navy (1864). He resigned after conspiracy charges.
In 1866 he headed the General Staff of the army. April 25, 1868 became president of Venezuela.
After resigning as head of state, Brusual left for Puerto Cabello. From there, he announced his intention to become president of the country and even enlisted the support of the troops, but on August 14, 1868 he was defeated by Jose Ruperto Monagas .
Brusual died on Curacao on August 15, 1868. In 1872, his remains were brought home by order of President Antonio Guzman Blanco .
