Geographical position

The village is located 7 kilometers west of the regional center - the city of Ivatsevichi , being almost in the center of Ivatsevichi district . The nearest highway Brest - Minsk , in the village there is a stop of passenger vehicles . The nearest railway stations “Kossovo-Polesie” and “Ivatsevichi” are located on the railway connecting Brest and Minsk (the nearest railway station and station, where international trains stop - Baranavichy );

Etymology

Presumably, the name of the village could have come from the foundation of Gosh Goshch, which has different semantic meanings: (stranger) or even a connection with a toponym (graveyard) is possible [4] .

Infrastructure

In the village there are several shops, 5 bus stops, a cultural center, a secondary school, a public center, a kindergarten, a feldsher point [5] , and a post office.

Attractions

  • Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. Built in 1838, restored in 2008. The church was included in the State List of Historical and Cultural Values ​​of the Republic of Belarus before the "restoration" [6] . As a result of the "restoration", the appearance of the church underwent significant changes, thanks to which, it actually lost its historical and cultural value.
  • Monument to fellow countrymen (source). In the center of the village. In memory of 65 villagers who died during the Great Patriotic War, an obelisk was installed in 1969 [7] .
