Goshchevo is a village in the Ivatsevichi district of the Brest region of Belarus . It is part of the Staykovsky village council . The population of 710 people (2009) [2] .

Geographical position
The village is located 7 kilometers west of the regional center - the city of Ivatsevichi , being almost in the center of Ivatsevichi district . The nearest highway Brest - Minsk , in the village there is a stop of passenger vehicles . The nearest railway stations “Kossovo-Polesie” and “Ivatsevichi” are located on the railway connecting Brest and Minsk (the nearest railway station and station, where international trains stop - Baranavichy );

Etymology
Presumably, the name of the village could have come from the foundation of Gosh Goshch, which has different semantic meanings: (stranger) or even a connection with a toponym (graveyard) is possible [4] .
Infrastructure
In the village there are several shops, 5 bus stops, a cultural center, a secondary school, a public center, a kindergarten, a feldsher point [5] , and a post office.
Attractions
- Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. Built in 1838, restored in 2008. The church was included in the State List of Historical and Cultural Values of the Republic of Belarus before the "restoration" [6] . As a result of the "restoration", the appearance of the church underwent significant changes, thanks to which, it actually lost its historical and cultural value.
- Monument to fellow countrymen (source). In the center of the village. In memory of 65 villagers who died during the Great Patriotic War, an obelisk was installed in 1969 [7] .
