About the album

For Hanoi Rocks Two Steps from the Move, 1984 was the first album released by a major label like Columbia Records and produced by such a famous master as Bob Ezrin . One of the main reasons why the band wanted to see Ezrin as a producer was that he worked with artists such as Alice Cooper , Pink Floyd and Kiss [1] . Under the leadership of Ezrin, the band enriched its melodious glam punk with elements of dark hard rock, which at that time was popular in the USA . The original album name was Silver Missiles and Nightingales , but at the last moment the band changed it. The unused name subsequently received the album Andy McCoy and Nasty Sueside, released under the authorship of the duet The Suicide Twins.

Two Steps from the Move is considered the most successful recording of Hanoi Rocks. On its way out, he reached 28th place in the UK charts UK Singles Chart [2] and 49th in the Japanese Oricon charts [3] . During their US tour, one of the concerts was attended by the future members of Guns N 'Roses Slash and Duff McCagan , shortly after this, the lines from the song Hanoi Rocks "Underwater World" Welcome to the ocean. Welcome to the sea. Welcome to the jungle. Deep inside of me. gave the title to the first track of the debut album of Guns N 'Roses Appetite for Destruction - “ Welcome to the Jungle ” [4] . To this day, Two Steps from the Move is considered a classic glam / hard rock [5] .

Despite this, shortly after the release of the album Hanoi Rocks suffered a tragic loss. On December 8, 1984, drummer Nickolas "Razzl" Dingli together with vocalist Mötley Crüe Vince Neil went to Redondo Beach in search of a liquor store. On the way, drunk Neal lost control and got into an accident, the result of which was Razzle’s death [6] . Michael Monroe subsequently described his feelings as follows: “One of us died, and this is terrible. If we had any dreams, it would be the end for them ” [1] . Shocked with grief, the participants canceled all the concerts scheduled for 1985, and the band was soon disbanded. Nicholas Dingli is dedicated to the album Mötley Crüe Theater of Pain .
