Biography

Pavel Ermilov was born on July 15, 1922 in Rybinsk . He received an incomplete secondary education, after which he worked as a mechanic at the Rybinsk Machine-Building Plant. In 1940, Ermilov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . In 1943, he graduated from the Balashov Military Aviation Pilot School . Since August of the same year - on the fronts of World War II [1] .

By September 1944, Senior Lieutenant Pavel Ermilov was deputy squadron commander of the 766th assault air regiment of the 211st assault air division of the 3rd Air Army of the 1st Baltic Front . By that time, he had made 104 sorties to attack clusters of military equipment and manpower of the enemy, his objects [1] .

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 23, 1945, Senior Lieutenant Pavel Ermilov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the awarding of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal [1] .

After the war, Yermilov continued to serve in the Soviet Army. In 1952 he graduated from the Higher Flight Tactical Courses. In 1959, with the rank of lieutenant colonel, he was transferred to the reserve. He lived in the city of Jelgava of the Latvian SSR , worked as the chief engineer of the house management [1] .

He was also awarded three orders of the Red Banner , the Order of Alexander Nevsky , two orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, orders of the Patriotic War of the 2nd degree and the Red Star , a number of medals [1] .
