Emblem Description
"In the azure field, a golden lion with a scarlet tongue, holding a golden ring in his forepaws, followed at the tip by three silver bars (two and one)."
Justification of Symbols
The coat of arms of the city of Nelidov is based on the noble coat of arms of the Nelidov clan, thanks to which the fourth-class railway station Nelidovo was founded in 1901, which later became the city.
Description of the coat of arms of the Nelidov clan:
“In the shield, which has a blue field, a stone of natural color is depicted, from which a golden lion emerges halfway, holding an iron ring in its paws. The shield is crowned with an ordinary noble helmet with a noble crown on it, because of which the lion indicated in the shield comes out. The mark on the shield is blue, lined with gold. ”
A lion holding a ring in his paws became the main figure of the coat of arms of the city of Nelidovo.
