Lviv political strike of 1918 - a speech by workers of Lviv railway workshops under the influence of the October Revolution .
It was part of the general political strike of the proletariat of Austria-Hungary . On January 18, 1918, about 800 workers at the meeting called for immediate improvements in food supplies and higher wages. The Railway Administration rejected these requirements. Conductors and engine drivers joined the strike. Traffic on the Lviv Railway was in jeopardy. On January 24, 1000 tramsmen went on strike in solidarity with the railroad workers, who also demanded higher wages. The strikers demanded an end to the First World War . Police carried out mass arrests among strikers, but the revolutionary upswing did not subside. The Lviv political strike played a role in the growth of the revolutionary crisis in Galicia.
