Biography

Born in with. Inhabitants near the town of Pyatigory ( Tarashchansky district of the Kiev province ) in a Polish noble family.

In June 1913 he received a diploma from the Commercial School of the First Society of Teachers in Uman with the title of Personal Honorary Citizen and entered the Kiev Commercial Institute . Catholic-Ukrainians entered the environment in Kiev, and joined the Kiev group of Ukrainian socialist revolutionaries ( Nikolai Kovalevsky , Lev Kovalev , Savvatiy Bereznyak , Kuzma Korzh and others) at the institute, gravitated to anarchism by political views, carried away by cosmopolitan ideas and Esperanto language .

In 1914, he was arrested in the case of the Russian Socialist Revolutionaries, was held pending trial in the Lukyanovskaya prison, sentenced to eternal settlement and exiled to Siberia . In 1915-1917 he lived in the southern part of the Yenisei province (v. Shirkino, Aban , Kansk , Minusinsk , Krasnoyarsk ).

Returning to Ukraine in 1917 after the February Revolution, he became a member of the Central Committee of the Ukrainian Party of Socialists-Revolutionaries and leader of the Poltava Provincial Organization of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, member of the Executive Committee of the Poltava Council of Workers 'and Soldiers' Deputies, from May 1917 he was a member of the Ukrainian Central Rada from the Poltava region, and was in UCR elected to the commission on its composition. In the UPSR, he occupied extremely leftist positions, together with Andrei Zalivchim , Lev Kovalev, Ignat Mikhaylichenko headed the so-called. "Left Bank" who adhered to internationalist views.

Since the summer of 1917, he advocated the transfer of power to the soviets, for the solidarity of the UPSR with the Bolsheviks. In early January 1918, after the capture of Poltava by the Red troops of the Russian Left Socialist Revolutionary Mikhail Muravyov , an acute conflict arose between the last and Poltava Council of Workers 'and Soldiers' Deputies, in which the "Left Bank" occupied the leading position. Under the threat of arrest and execution, Bochkovsky leaves Poltava and arrives in Kiev . On the morning of January 26 (February 8), 1918, on the first day the Bolshevik troops Muravyov entered Kiev, three members of the UCR, Leonard Bochkovsky, and , were arrested in the apartment of the latter and brutally killed in park near the Mariinsky Palace .

The Kiev Soviet government, the headquarters of the revolutionary troops, individuals from the Bolshevik leaders - they all strongly declare that no one gave the order for the execution of Zarudny and Bochkovsky. "The soldiers themselves shot." There is nothing to deny against such a statement, because indeed “the soldiers themselves” even shot many Kiev Bolsheviks. True, those who refer to the "soldiers themselves" are well aware that in addition to official orders, there are also so-called "unspoken" orders or ... only "advice". They also know that the revolutionary Soviet and so-called "revolutionary" troops that captured Kiev were given an order, or maybe not an order, but only a "council": "you should not spare Ukrainian heads."

Original text (in Ukrainian)
Kyivska radianska vlada, headquarters of the revolutionary countries, okremі individuals from the Bolshevik’s leadership - I must state that I haven’t given any order about the construction of Zarudny i Bochkovsky. "The soldiers themselves were demolished." Again, declare a year of restraint, more often than not, "the soldiers themselves" have disrupted navigating the bag of Kyiv bolsheviks. Schopravda, ti, who relies on the "soldiers themselves", it’s good to know how much of the official punishment is known as the so-called "tacit" order, if only ... please. To know the stench is the same as those who are revolutionary Radian and so called “revolutionary” Russian, they took Kiev, they gave orders to them, but maybe they didn’t tell me, but more than “I’m glad”: “Do not play Ukrainian goals”.
