History
The station was opened in 1884 on the Krivorogskaya railway , in the area of the village of Katerinovka (owner Dolgintsova) [4] , not far from the Saksagan River.
The name Dolgintsevo comes from the surname of the owner of the village of Katerinovka (on some maps - Ekaterinovka), which, like the lands around, belonged to Captain Dolgintsov [4] , which were allocated (the old term is a summer residence) by decree of Emperor Alexander I , a participant in the Patriotic War of 1812 upon retirement from the Tobolsk Infantry Regiment .
During the construction of the Krivoy Rog railway, the name of the participant in the war for the liberation of Russia from the French invaders was immortalized in the name of the breech station, but in the South Russian way - Dolgintsevo.
Since 1901, a railway school has been operating at the station, possibly with a dormitory for the children of engineers, craftsmen and workers living in linear stations and siding. In 1902, the main locomotive depot included 80 steam locomotives; there were about 250 staff. In 1903, a social democratic organization was created at the Dolgintsevo station under the leadership of Movsha Monastyrsky . There was a public library at the station. In 1905, an extension was made to the station building from the south side. In 1912, the station was reconstructed. During the Civil War, the station economy fell into decay, but was restored in the 1920s in the Ukrainian SSR and continues to develop to this day.
The station has been renamed several times:
- from 1884 to 1965 it was called Dolgintsevo;
- from 1965 to 1979 it was called Krivoy Rog-Sorting;
- Since 1979 it has been called Krivoy Rog-Glavny.
The station was electrified in 1959-1960, along with the electrification of the entire line Verkhovtsevo - Dolgintsevo - Chervonnoye of the then Stalin Railway .
