The river originates in the Zubovo-Polyansky district of Mordovia , the source is north of the village of Mordovia Pimbur . The direction of the current is mainly to the north, in places with deviations to the west (the initial segment of the river) and to the east. From the Zubovo-Polyansky district, it passes to the Spassky district of the Penza region . The longest runs through the territory of this region, first flowing through the village of Vichutka , then flows between the regional center - the city of Spassk (on the right bank), and the village of Liplayka (on the left bank). In the lower reaches, it crosses the border with the Torbeevsky district of Mordovia, in which it flows into the Partz river near the village of Kazhlodka .
The mouth of the river is 92 km along the left bank of the Partz River.
It has a right tributary flowing through the city of Spassk and flowing into Studenets immediately after Spassky. According to topographic maps, this tributary is referred to as Checherka , according to the State Water Register - Vishlyai [3] .
