Biography
Mikhail Kokov was born in aal Khara Pulun (now the Shirinsky district of Khakassia ) on November 21, 1913 (according to other sources, in 1914). He graduated from a school in the village of Ust-Fyrkal , after which he entered the work school of Tomsk University . After graduation, he began working as a secretary of the people's court, then he was the chairman of the working committee of the state farm, and after that - a history teacher at the school. Participated in the Soviet-Finnish war of 1939-1940 . After serving in the army he lived and worked in Abakan .
Creativity
Kokov's first works were published in the newspaper Kyzyl-aal in 1936. These were the poems “Song of tractor drivers” and “Red Army”. In 1940, his story "Joyful Meeting" was published. The most famous dramatic work of Kokov was the drama "Akun" heroic-revolutionary orientation. The main theme of Kokov’s works is transformation in the life of the Khakass people. His work played a significant role in the development of Khakass literature .
