Story

Multi-billionaire Robert Miller is about to sell a hedge fund , which is managed jointly with his daughter Brooke. But due to an unsuccessful deal, he has to falsify creative accounting in order to cover investment losses and avoid being arrested for fraud. One night, going through drugs, he gets into an accident with his mistress Julie Cat. Robert survived, but Julie died. Not wanting to publicize even an unintentional murder, he is hiding from the scene of the crime. Helps him Jimmy Grant - a young African-American from Harlem, indebted to Robert for helping his father in the past.

Robert has a difficult relationship with his wife Ellen. She suspects that the wounded Robert, who hobbled home at 4:30 in the morning, is involved in dark affairs, but is still silent. Detective Brier, through indirect evidence, suspects Miller's involvement in the death of his mistress, but cannot prove anything.

Meanwhile, Brooke Miller, sorting out the documentation in the father’s fund, finds out that about $ 400 million has disappeared from the accounts in an unknown direction. During a frank conversation, pressed by arguments, Robert Miller admits that he got involved in an adventurous deal and burned out. To hide losses, he borrowed money, and now the only way to get out is to hide the story of fraud from the public and quickly sell the fund to pay off debts. Somehow, Robert manages to beg his daughter not to divulge the story. Detective Brier unexpectedly finds direct evidence - a photo from surveillance cameras that recorded Jimmy Grant behind the wheel that very night. Jimmy is ready to repent of the crime, but salvation comes at the last moment. It turns out that the photo was a fake, which was made by Brier, desperate in another way to blame the bars of a billionaire. All charges are dropped. Robert, during a meeting in a restaurant, immediately sells his fund to entrepreneur James Mayfield.

Now Ellen remains the last problem. Deciding that Robert was unworthy of doing with their daughter, hiding his scams to the last, Ellen threatens to tell everything she knows about that night to the police. She demands that Miller write off his entire fortune in favor of the Ellen Charity Fund. Robert refuses at first. In the final, Robert, Ellen and Brooke attend a banquet in honor of a major charity event. Brooke gives a eulogy in honor of his father as a prominent philanthropist. Robert rises to the stage and gathers his thoughts before the response.
