Zetsuen no tempest

The sister of the protagonist, Mahiro Fuwa, was killed by an unknown person. Since the police could not detect the traces of the killer, the young man set as his goal to find and punish the criminal on his own. Later, he met the most powerful sorceress of our time, Hakaze Kusaribe, betrayed by his followers and imprisoned on a desert island. He signed a contract with her under which he would help Hakaze, and the girl would help him find the killer. After learning about the goals of Makhiro, his friend joins him, Yoshino Takigawa, who secretly met with his sister. The plot tells of their adventures.

Main characters

Yoshino Takigawa ( 滝 川 吉野 Takigawa Yoshino ) is one of the main characters in the story. Very calm and indifferent. The year before the main events, he secretly met with Aiki from Mahiro. Her death was a terrible blow for him, but he carefully hid his feelings so that no one would guess anything. After the inhabitants of his native city turned to iron, he went with Fuva Mahiro to rescue the princess of the Kusaribe clan from imprisonment. Later it turns out that the main reason for his decision to help Mahiro save the world, not in order to take revenge on the murderer of his girlfriend, but in order to fulfill her will: prevent tragedy at the end of their story.

Seiyu : Koki Utiyama

Mahiro Fuwa ( Jap. 不 破 真 広 Fuwa Mahiro ) - one of the main characters, a native of a wealthy family, went to destroy the killer of Aiki. Unlike Yoshino, who suppressed his feelings, Mahiro is filled with anger and thirst for revenge. Because of this, in difficult situations, he cannot think soberly. He was very rude and had no friends until he became close to Yoshino; earlier, one of his former subordinates, Miriro's father, tried to kill him. Actually, he was in love with Aiku, not like the half-brother he is. Even at the beginning of the iron epidemic, he saved a fifteen-year-old girl (very similar in appearance to Aiku) and when it was all over, he decided to date her.

Seiyu: Toshiyuki Toyonaga

Hakaze Kusaribe ( 鎖 部 葉風 Kusaribe Hakaze ) is one of the main characters in the story. The head of the Kusaribe clan, the strongest mage of the Tree of Origin. Due to intrigue inside the clan, she ended up on a desert island, where she could not conjure. Nevertheless, she was able to contact Mahiro, who picked up a magic doll sent to Hakaze by the sea in a bottle on the coast. Later it turned out that Hakaze was in a temporary trap, she had already died in the present time, and her skeleton was kept by the Kusaribe clan, her only connection with the present was a magic doll. However, by the will of the Beginning Tree, which Hakaze served, a whole nuclear warhead fell on the island, which the girl used to get out of the temporary trap and fell two years ahead. Later, she began to accompany Yoshino, and fell in love with him, but for a long time she struggled with her feelings. Blamed herself for Aiki’s death because she thought the Tree of Origin killed her for her sake to help her out of the trap. Upon learning that her lover Yoshino met with his sister Makhiro, her faith in her God, the Tree of Origin, finally collapses and the sorceress turns against God. The situation was further aggravated due to the fact that Hakaze, having moved in time, spoke about the future of Aike and she killed herself. But neither Makhiro nor Yoshino accused her of anything. She participated in a production in which Hanemura, dressed in armor, destroyed the branches of the Tree of Origin that grew around the world, after which she was nicknamed the “Dancing Princess”. After the destruction of two trees, like all of Kusaribe, she lost her magic and after a while left the clan village, moving to the city to Yoshino.

Seiyu: Miyuki Savashiro

Aika Fuva ( 不 破 愛 花 Fuva Aika ) is Mahiro's sister and Yoshino's lover. Appears only in the recollections of the main characters. She was a very unusual girl, loved to quote Hamlet’s poems, and also expressed her anger with frightening speeches. It is difficult to understand exactly what feelings she felt for her half-brother Makhiro and Yoshino, but she treasured both of them very much, as they were the only ones who had ever loved her and defended her. When moving to the past, Hakaze learned from Aiki herself that she was the true Magician of the Exodus and the real reason for the existence of two trees. In turn, Aika, having learned from Hakaze about the future, unravels the secret of her death: "Fuva Aika killed Fuva Aika" and as a result came to this terrible decision. Hakaze tried to stop her, but lost the battle. Yoshino and Makhiro left two messages, asking them not to grieve over her death and live a happy life, thanking them for everything.

Minor Characters

Samon Kusaribe ( 鎖 部 左 門 Kusaribe Samon ) is the head of the Kusaribe clan and the younger brother of Hakaze. Initially, he planned to awaken the Tree of Exodus in order to destroy the Tree of Origin, but Hakaze, who was much stronger than him, became his main obstacle. So he tricked her into a barrel and sent her to a desert island. Later, after rescuing Mahiro and Yoshino Hakaze from a temporary trap, he goes over to their side. He assumed that Yoshino was the Mage of Exodus, and even after Hanemura appeared, he continued to suspect Takigawa.

Seiyu: Rikiya Koyama

Natsumura Kusaribe ( 鎖 部 夏 村 Kusaribe Natsumura ) - Samon's right hand, is the best fighter of the Kusaribe clan. Perfectly owns a spear, practically did not lose to anyone in battles.

Seiyu: Junichi Suwabe

Tetsuma Kusaribe ( 鎖 部 哲馬 Kusaribe Tetsuma ) is also one of the Kusaribe clan, a good magician and is a subordinate and bodyguard of Samon. Has a tattoo in the form of an arrow on his face.

Seiyu: Hiroyuki Yoshino

Evangelina Yamamoto ( エ ヴ ァ ン ジ ェ リ ン 山 本 Evandzerin Yamamoto ) is a woman who is investigating the connection between Mahiro and Hakazze. Having found Yoshino, he tries to find out the location of his friend, but then concludes a cooperation deal with Yoshino. At the beginning of the story, she is the only one who knows that it was Aika who was Yoshino's girlfriend.

Seiyu: Nana Mizuki

Takumi Hayakawa ( 早 河 巧 Hayakawa Takumi ) is a high-ranking official who has knowledge of magic due to the fact that his ancestor was associated with the Kusaribe clan. Assigned to investigate a case related to the Exodus Tree. To aggravate the situation, he begins to work with Samon in order to prevent a threat to the population.

Seiyu: Shintaro Asanuma

Megumu Hanemura ( 羽 村 め ぐ む Hanemura Megumu ) is a taciturn, timid, almost always dull expression on her face. He accidentally collides with Yoshiro and Hakaze at the station, as a result of which it becomes known that he is the Magician of the Exodus. The awakening of his strength was noticed not so long ago, about a year ago. He was a suspect in the death of his sister Makhiro - Aiki.

Seiyu: Yuki Kaji

Junichiro Hoshimura ( Jap. 星 村 潤 一郎 Hoshimura Junichiro :) is a member of the Kusaribe clan who left him in order to avoid constant fights, disagreements and battles, because he does not like all this. Insightful, kind and attentive, Junichiro is the only one whom Hakaze can fully trust, so she left him a very powerful talisman. Not a magician, but a real pro in the use of magical amulets is very strong. His magical abilities are focused on deflecting enemy attacks, throwing them into the ground (similar to throwing in Judo). Hakaze's first love, although he always treated her like a younger sister.

Seiyu: Hirofumi Nojima

Mimori Hayashi ( Jap. 林 美 森 Hayashi Mimori ) is the new girl of Mahiro, about whom it becomes known in the last chapter of the manga.
