Management in the game switches between four characters - UPA agents ( U rban P rotection A gency - city defense agency), each with its own special abilities. The game plot unfolds below the city line (the main city in the game is superstructured over the city, which in turn is superstructured over the lower city). The main events of the game take place on abandoned buildings and "surroundings" below the city limits.
Among the features of the Project Eden game engine is that the heroes do not die, instead they appear at the last checkpoint, where their health is fully restored. With an emphasis on solving puzzles during the battle, the game can be seen as a cyberpunk addition to The Lost Vikings , as Project Eden has more in common with this game developed by Blizzard Entertainment than traditional first-person or third-person shooters. The player can control any of the four characters by switching to the selected character at any time, while the remaining characters act independently or can be taken under control of any of the team members.
