Hartford (Vermont)

Hartford was founded in 1716 by Benning Wentworth , Governor of New Hampshire .

The city is located in the eastern part of Vermont, near the administrative border with the state of New Hampshire , on the banks of the White River , approximately 67 kilometers southeast (SSE) from Montpelier , the state's administrative center. The absolute height is 160 meters above sea ​​level ^[1] .
According to the US Census Bureau , the city’s area is 118.9 km², of which 116.5 km² is land and 2.4 km² (i.e. 2.02%) on the water surface.

According to the 2000 census ^[2] , 10 367 people, 2800 families lived in Hartford, there were 4509 household units and 5493 residential buildings. The average population density was about 47 people per square kilometer.
