Biography
Born September 12 (25), 1910 in the city of Yevpatoriya ( Crimea ) in a working class family. He graduated from the 9th grade of the school. He worked at the Kharkov Tractor Plant .
In the Navy since 1931, a Red Navy training unit. In 1933 he graduated from the Special courses of the command staff of the RKKF . He served on torpedo boats of the Pacific Fleet : from October 1931 - commander of a torpedo boat, from August 1934 - commander of a torpedo boat link.
In May 1938, he was repressed, arrested, and dismissed from the RKKF on false charges. In April 1939, released and reinstated in the Navy, he again became a flight commander. Since December 1939 - commander of the torpedo boat squad of the Pacific Fleet. From August 1941 - chief of staff, from June 1943 - commander of the 3rd division of the torpedo boats of the fleet.
Member of the Soviet-Japanese war of 1945 . The commander of the 3rd division of torpedo boats (Pacific Fleet), captain of the 3rd rank S.P. Kostritsky skillfully organized reconnaissance in force, landing and support of the landing on August 9 and 10, 1945. The brigade, in cooperation with naval aviation, launched torpedo strikes during the assault on the ports of Yuki and the assault on the port of Racine and on the enemy’s Seisin naval base, which greatly facilitated the landing of our naval assault forces at these points. The division under his command sank 5 transports with a total displacement of 41,000 tons, shot down an enemy aircraft.
For exemplary fulfillment of the tasks of the command and courage, bravery and heroism shown by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of September 14, 1945, Captain 3rd rank Sergey Petrovich Kostritsky was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal (No. 7144 )
After the war, he continued to serve in the Navy. From July 1947, he was the chief of staff; from January 1949, he was the commander of the 2nd brigade of torpedo boats of the Pacific Fleet. In June - December 1951 - commander of the 170th torpedo boat brigade of the Port Arthur Naval Base.
In 1953 he graduated from the Naval Academy . Since January 1953 - commander of the 34th torpedo boat division of the 8th Navy. Since March 1956 - commander of the naval base of Baltiysk (Kaliningrad region). Since February 1961 - commander of the 78th brigade of training and reserve ships of the Baltic Fleet . Since May 1962 - the commander of the 78th brigade of the Protection of the water area of the Liepaja naval base. Since November 1964 - chief of armament and supply - deputy chief of logistics of the Northern Fleet. Since December 1967 - at the disposal of the head of the 10th Directorate of the General Staff. He lived in the city of Riga ( Latvia ). He worked in the Latvian Shipping Company as first assistant to the captain of the ship "Sena". He died on February 3, 1982. He was buried in the Rainis city cemetery.
