Features

HD 219077 - a star of 6.12 visible magnitude; for the first time in astronomical literature is mentioned in the catalog of Henry Draper , published at the beginning of the XX century . This is a fairly old (about 8.9 billion years old) yellow dwarf with a mass and radius of 1.05 and 1.91 solar . [1] The surface temperature of HD 219077 is about 5940 Kelvin . The luminosity of a star exceeds 2.66 times that of the sun.

Planet System

In 2012, a group of astronomers working with the CORALIE spectrograph announced the discovery [1] of the planet HD 219077 b in the system. It is a gas giant that is ten times more powerful than Jupiter . The planet orbits in a very elongated elliptical orbit at a distance of 6.22 AU from the parent star, making a complete revolution in 5501 days. The discovery of the planet was made by Doppler spectroscopy .
