From the lake flows the Saldam River, the right tributary of the Balyktyg-Khem , which in turn flows into the right to the Small Yenisei (Kaa-Khem). Small rivers Kyzyltykty (from the southwest), Bazhyrganak (from the south), Kungurtuk (from the south) flow into the Tere-Khol. There is an island on Tere-Khol, on which the remains of the Uigur fortress Por-Bazhyn of the 8th century BC are preserved. e. The island with the southeastern shore of the lake is connected by a 1.3 km long pile foot bridge.
In the 1970s - 1990s, a fishing artel was located on the lake, engaged in small-scale fishing for bream and pike .
6 km to the southeast from the lake is the district center of the Tere-Kholsky district (kozhuuna), the village of Kungurtug (Kungur-Tuk).
Notes
- ↑ On the maps of the early 1950s, the lake's elevation was 1333 m, the water area was several times larger than the modern one and occupied the entire western half of the Tere-Khol tectonic basin. In the early 1960s, on topographic maps, the lake's elevation was 1030.8 m, and the outlines of the water area were close to modern. In the early 1980s, a lake level mark was already given on maps at the level of 1298 m, and a horizontal line with a height of 1300 m outlined the entire western part of the Tere-Khol basin (within the boundaries of the water area of the early 1950s).
