Biography
Mullayar Islamgareevich Syrtlanov [2] - Bashkir, from the Bashkir noble family of the Syrtlanovs . Born in 1923 in the village of Syrtlanovo of the Belebeyevsky canton of the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (now the Buzdyaksky district of Bashkiria ) in the family of Islamgarey and Fatiha Syrtlanovs. In total, the family had six children: three sons and three daughters.
The family in 1937, along with other settlers, moved to the village of Sharipovka (Blagoveshchensky district), where they first put up a small house near the lake, and then, closer to the main street, more spacious. The children of immigrants off-road went to the Turbaslinsky school [3] . Mullayar graduated from the 7th grade of the school and began working on the collective farm. The representative who arrived from the city recruited the young man of Mullayar and three other village children to work in a mine in the city of Karaganda [3] . Mullayar became a slaughterer and here he was met by war.
The elder brother Mavliyar at that time served in the Navy, and soon his father was taken to the front. According to the recollections of the sister of Athena Islamgareevna, “Mullayar hurried home to his native village, from where in 1943 he was also drafted into the Red Army. By this time, two funerals had already come to their house, first at the father, then at the brother ” [3] .
According to other sources, he was drafted into the Red Army by the Karaganda city military registration and enlistment office on March 8, 1942, and since 1943, at the front.
Senior sergeant M. I. Syrtlanov was especially distinguished when crossing the Dnieper River and seizing a bridgehead on its right bank in the vicinity of the village of Zarubintsy .
A letter came from a native village: “We received a joyful notice that our former collective farmer was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union. A letter of glorious deed and high award inspired us to exemplary work in preparation for spring sowing. At the collective farm meeting, members of the artel undertook to successfully cleanse the seeds and repair agricultural equipment, ahead of schedule to fulfill quarterly plans for the delivery of agricultural products to the defense fund. The family of our front-line soldier does not need anything, we constantly assist her in food and fuel transportation. ”
Since November 26, 1943, Mullayar Syrtlanov is officially considered missing. The reference book about the Heroes “Their exploits are immortal” was published in Bashkortostan in 2000. The year of death is 1944, and the site “Heroes of the country” indicates even more precisely on January 15, 1944 [1] . In the article “You Know What a Guy He Was!” Lyubov Belova provides new data: in January 1944, in the battles for the liberation of the village of Komsomolskoye (Ukraine), the calculation of Mullayar Syrtlanov, consisting of three people, went missing. A notice came to mother’s home: “Your son Mullayar Syrtlanov, being at the front, went missing in January 1944” [3] .
Hero of the Soviet Union retired Lt. Col. Aleksey Pavlovich Poddubny spoke about the last meeting with the machine gunner Syrtlanov:
“An hour later, as I allowed Syrtlanov’s calculation to dry out and warm up, the Nazis brought down a shower of incendiary shells and mines on the outskirts of the village. Part of the buildings instantly flared up and burned to the ground. Probably, in one of them was our brave machine gunner ” [3] .
Mullayar Islamgareevich went missing between November 1943 and January 1944 (most likely in November 1943 during the Kiev defensive operation). Mullayar Islamgareevich’s father, Islamgare Syrtlanov, also went missing at the front in July 1942.
