Origin

Rurikovich in the XXI tribe, son of the governor of Prince Samson Ivanovich Turenin (d. After 1556 ). Brothers - Princes Dmitry, Nikita, Mikhail and Vasily Tureniny .

Service

In 1575 - 1576, the governor in the Spear fortress . In 1577, Prince Ivan Samsonovich Turenin approached the guard regiment from Pskov to Livonia, then stood in Tarus with the advanced regiment as the second governor. In 1578 he arrived at the service in Kaluga from Zaraysk .

In 1579, Prince Ivan Samsonovich Turenin was mentioned in the Livonian campaign. In 1581, he was the second governor in Yuryev Livonsky , then he commanded a guard regiment on a campaign from Mozhaisk to Smolensk , and from there - under Mogilev . In 1582, he was the first governor in Toropets , from where he was sent to Murom to lead a regiment of his left hand on a punitive campaign against the Kazan. In 1583, Prince I. S. Turenin brought a large regiment to Nizhny Novgorod for a further trip to Kopan. In the winter of 1584/1585, he was the first governor in Chernigov , and in the fall he commanded the advanced regiment on the Oka, at Aleksin .

In 1586, he became a voivode in Chernigov , then went “ along the Lithuanian news ” to Mozhaisk with a guard regiment as the second voivode. In 1589 - the second governor of the advanced regiment in Serpukhov . In the winter of 1589/1590 , he participated in the campaign of Tsar Fyodor Ioannovich to Novgorod the Great and took Koporye with the advanced regiment from the Swedes.

In 1591 he was sent by the 2nd governor to Tula and after the expulsion of the Crimean Khan Kazy Girey from Moscow, he was left in Tula . In 1592 - the second governor of the right-hand regiment in Aleksin , then transferred to Odoev . In 1593 - the second governor of the guard regiment in Kolomna . In 1594 - the first governor in Novgorod the Great .

In 1597, Prince Ivan Samsonovich Turenin died, leaving behind him a son and two daughters. Children:

  • Vasily Ivanovich Zhar Turenin (d. 1634 ), governor
  • Daria Ivanovna Turenina, wife of deceit and governor Pyotr Fedorovich Basmanov (d. 1606 )
  • Glikerya Ivanovna Turenina (d. 1624 ), wife of the boyar and governor of Prince Ivan Semenovich Kurakin (d. 1632 ).
