Biography

Born July 26 ( August 8 ), 1902 in Samara . In 1923 he entered the Faculty of Mechanics of the MVTU named after N. E. Bauman . During his studies, he spent a lot of time in the laboratory for metal cutting, trying to identify the parameters of the operating modes of metal cutting machines, with which you can change both the design of the machine and its efficiency. It was at this time in the USSR there was an intensive development of machine tool industry, including metal-cutting machines [1] .

From 1933 he worked at ENIMS , where in 1932-1937 he worked as a design engineer, senior, department head. From 1937 to 1977 - the chief designer of ENIMS . Under his leadership, a machine aggregation system was developed (specialized from normalized functional units and standard ones) for processing rotation bodies in automatic lines. Chief Project Engineer of the first automated piston plant (commissioned in 1950).

In 1943 he was elected a corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences . He made several reports on the scientific and technological progress of mechanical engineering at general meetings of the USSR Academy of Sciences and the Department of Technical Sciences, and headed a number of academic scientific commissions. He was one of the initiators of the creation of IMASHAN named after A. A. Blagonravov , for almost two decades he led the Commission on Engineering Technology. Since 1953, a full member of the USSR Academy of Sciences .

Since 1977 - on a well-deserved vacation. He died on January 12, 1979 .
