Features
HD 208527 - a star of 6.4 visible magnitude; for the first time in astronomical literature is mentioned in the catalog of Henry Draper , published at the beginning of the XX century . It was previously believed that the star is an orange dwarf, but recent studies have shown that it is a large red giant . [1] The mass of the star is equal to 1.6 the mass of the Sun and in size it exceeds our daylight by 51 times. The surface temperature of HD 208527 is approximately 4035 Kelvin . Her age is estimated at approximately two billion years.
Planet System
In 2012, a group of South Korean astronomers from the Bohyunsan Optical Astronomy Observatory announced the discovery [1] of the planet HD 208527 b in the system. This is a gas giant , surpassing Jupiter in mass by 9.9 times. The planet is drawn at a distance of 2.1 AU from the parent star, making a complete revolution of 875 days. The discovery of the planet was made by Doppler spectroscopy .
