Biography

Evgeny Evseev was born on February 19, 1919 in the city of Borisoglebsk (now the Voronezh region ). In 1935 he graduated from the College of Agricultural Mechanization, after which he worked in a mechanical workshop. In 1939, Evseev was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . In 1941, he graduated from the Borisoglebsk Military Aviation Pilot School . Since June 1942 - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. Participated in the Battle of Stalingrad [1] .

By December 1942, Lieutenant Evgeny Evseev was a pilot in the 629th Fighter Aviation Regiment of the 102nd Fighter Air Division of the Air Defense Forces. By that time, he had made 152 sorties, took part in 37 air battles, shooting down 6 enemy planes in person and another 1 as part of the group [1] .

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 8, 1943, for "exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the battle against the German invaders and shown courage and heroism", Lieutenant Evgeny Evseev was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal " Under the number 835 [1] .

Honorary Citizen of Borisoglebsk. He was awarded two orders of Lenin, orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree and the Badge of Honor , along with a number of medals [1] .
