Designation of the size of an alla log .

Four quarter size designation.
Alla breve ( Italian: alla breve , hastily, in short, in a concise way) - musical term [1] ; designation of the time signature (fast execution of dicotyledon meters, in which case the score is kept not in quarters, but in half notes), i.e. 2/2 or ¢.
In ancient music, brevis was called a double full note ; therefore, Alla breve marks in the form of an inscription above the piece of music a double acceleration of movement and shows that the measure should be counted not in quarter but in half notes . The sign for the tact of Alla Breve is the crossed-out “C”. [2]
In ancient music (Italian church works of the XV — XVII centuries), the term could be interpreted rather controversially [1] .
