Stigmella tragilis (lat.) Is a species of baby moths of the genus Stigmella ( Nepticulinae ) from the family Nepticulidae .

Endemic to South Africa : South Africa ( Margate, Natal ) [1] . The length is 3.6-4.6 mm. The general color is tan. Caterpillars feed on plants of the species Tragia durbanensis ( Euphorbiaceae ). Eggs are laid on the upper surface of the leaves [2] . They are similar to the species Stigmella satarensis , differing in the color of the wings and the structure of the eyes [3] . In the apical part of the front wings two veins are developed: R 4 + 5 and M [4] .
