Basic Information
The cross "For the capture of Bazardzhik" was established [2] [3] by Alexander I on June 13, 1810 in connection with the victory of the Russian army during the capture of the Turkish fortress Bazardzhik [4] [5] (now the Bulgarian city of Dobrich ). This cross is considered the last in a series of similar crosses established in honor of a particular event [6] .
Award Order
By decree [2] [3] of Alexander I , all headquarters officers and chief officers of the corps of Lieutenant General Kamensky 1 , who participated in the capture of Bazardzhik during the Russo-Turkish war and did not receive orders for this event, should be awarded. Presentation of the cross gave three additional years to the length of service to receive a pension or to the award of the Order of St. George 4th degree for long service. For soldiers and non-commissioned officers was established a medal "For the capture of Bazardzhik" [4] .
The number of awards is unknown [1] [7] , however, there is evidence that much less officers (potential awarded) participated in this battle than in the battle at Preisisch-Eylau , for which 900 crosses were made for the award [1] .
Description of the Cross
The cross was made of gold . The size of the cross is 38 × 38 mm. The edge is smooth [1] . The cross has four extended bifurcated ends, which gives a resemblance to the Maltese cross . The middle of the cross is framed in a circle, inside of which there is an inscription. The inscription on the front side in three lines: " FOR EXCELLENT COURAGE ." On the back of the coin is an inscription in six lines [1] [4] [5] [8] :

Wear Order
The cross had an eye for attaching to the tape. The cross should be worn on the chest. The ribbon of the cross is St. George's [4] .
