Clostridium sordellii (lat.) - a species of bacteria of the genus Clostridium . For the first time, they were identified by Argentine microbiologist Alfredo Sordelli in 1922 in a patient with gas gangrene of a person. This microorganism was regarded as the pathogenic variant of Clostridium bifermentans serovar B.

Clostridium sordellii is a polymorphic bacillus with rounded ends 3–8 m long and 1.2–1.5 μm wide. Capsule does not synthesize, forms oval, central or sub-terminal spores found in cultures. It has flagella : peritrich, most mobile in young cultures. Gram stain positive . Bacteria are isolated in isolation and 2-3 cells, rarely in chains.
